Seals - The knurled shoulder, common to all of these seals, makes them easy to handle. This is particularly useful when separating joints that have been sealed togethor for a long period, and possibly exposed to 'caustic' chemicals. The ribs are machined to a very fine tolerance and when compressed in a joint will form a liquid and gas tight seal. A deep rib at its base adds to the sleeve strength.
