Manufactured in a choice of high clarity medical grade polypropylene or transparent polystyrene and sterilised by gamma irradiation the 15ml centrifuge tubes are certified non-pyrogenic to 0.25EU/ml.
Polypropylene has greater chemical resistance than polystyrene and is better suited to solvents and allows higher-speed centrifugation. Polystyrene the economical alternative where lower RCF values are required for aqueous based suspensions.
The recommended maximum RCF value for the polypropylene tubes is 10000 x g. The maximum RCF value for the polystyrene tubes is 6000 x g. These maximums are based on use in appropriate balanced centrifuge rotors.
Sterilin's 15ml tubes feature a bore seal closure with a dual start thread. This closure ensures a leek-proof seal tested to BS5213 and closes in only one complete turn facilitating single-handed aseptic techniques. The top of the cap is flat allowing identification marking.
The 15ml tubes feature crisp white graduations on the tube body with a large printed marking strip facilitating labelling. Externally moulded graduations on the cone prevent liquid or cells becoming trapped ensuring easy removal of pellets.
Available either packaged in EPS racks or in bulk polyethylene bags.
