Designed to show the three-dimensional nature of a magnetic field easily and conveniently. It illustrates the true shape of a magnetic field far better than either a plotting compass or iron fillings. Consists of a small bar magnet suspended in a gimbal mounting on jewelled bearings. The supporting frame, handle and bearing pivots are all constructed of non-ferrous materials. Ideal for laborotary or geological field studies and is sensitive enough to detect earth's magnetic field for both Meridian and Dip. Dimensions 140 x 40 x 3mm.
