Smoke cell ''Whitley Bay''
The original concept of showing Brownian Motion with a smoke cell has been developed further with this apparatus. Using hard-wearing, low maintenance materials the Whitley Bay Smoke cell will give many years of trouble free service. Safe, low voltage illumination. A small, clear plastic cylinder is filled with smoke, (the easiest method is to light a waxed drinking straw, the dense smoke from the wax falls to the bottom of the straw and this fills the cylinder). A microscope slide cover slip is used as a lid for the cylinder and the particles of smoke simulating Brownian Motion are viewed under a microscope.
