G by freefall apparatus
An elecromagnet is energised and a steel sphere is attached. When the power to the electromagnet is switched off the sphere falls and the unit automatically activates a timer. The sphere hits a large platform which then stops the timer and the speed can be ascertained. The size and sensitivity accross the whole of the stop platform (700 x 30 x 20mm) allows repeatable results to be achieved effortlessly.
