G by freefall apparatus, solenoid type
Consists of a small solenoid type elecromagnet and a swinging gate switch each mounted on a base, 100 x 63 x 9mm. Both bases are fitted with 4mm sockets and can be readily clamped on to a 12mm diameter retort rod. The swinging gate switch is normally held closed by a magnet and this unit is fitted with a sensitivity adjustment screw so that the holding force can be controlled to allow the plate to fall under the slightest pressure. The electromagnet is suitable for either 6V or 12V operation. Timing intervals of less than one second are essential and the centisecond timer RE00501 is ideal for this. Supplied complete with bearings and instructions for use but without retort stand and base.
