Linear air track
Square section light alloy tube 2m long with 50 mm side. Supported diagonally on adjustable feet. The tube is drilled near its apex on each side with 1 mm holes at 20 mm spacing. The ends of the tube are closed with plates carrying respectively a tubular for connection to an air blower and sliding plate to provide adjustable air leakage to regulate the air pressure. The end plates also carry grooved rods to support rubber recoil bands, and drilled holes and tapped holes for accessory equipment. Two heavy vehicles 200 mm long and one light vehicle 100 mm long are provided, with masses respectively of 100 g and 50 g approx. The vehicles have a support at each end to take buffers, rebound springs, catapults or other accessories, and drilled centrally to accomodate dowels or straws for photographic recording. The supports also take opaque cards for use in photoelectric timing. Supplied complete with a selection of rubber buffers, four rebound srings, four black catapults, one mounted pin, one plasticine socket, four clack cards on dowel mounts and a supply of rubber bands with operating notes and suggestions for experiments.
