G BY FREEFALL APPARATUS AND TIMER

Product Code: FR00101

Description

This apparatus is designed to help students measure gravitational acceleration (‘g’) through the free fall method. It features an electromagnet housed in a durable plastic case, a heavy steel sphere, and a platform unit, making it ideal for physics and science education.

The electromagnet securely holds the steel sphere, and when deactivated, the sphere falls, triggering a timer connected to the unit. The timer stops when the sphere hits the platform, allowing students to calculate the time of fall and determine ‘g’. The stand is not supplied with this apparatus.

Key Features:

  • Electromagnet Release: Safely holds and releases the steel sphere for accurate measurements.
  • Timer Integration: Connects to an external timer to measure fall time.
  • Micro Switch Platform: Stops the timer when the sphere hits the platform.
  • Durable Design: Long-lasting plastic housing and reliable steel sphere.
  • Easy Connections: 4 mm sockets for easy integration with external timers.

Curriculum Application:

  • Physics: Demonstrates key concepts of motion, gravity, and acceleration.
  • Hands-On Learning: Enables students to conduct experiments and gather data.
  • Ideal for Education: Suitable for high school and college-level physics students.
